As part of its 40th anniversary celebration, Karndean Designflooring launched its 40 Free Floors for 40 Good Causes campaign last fall. The initiative is running globally in regions that include a Karndean headquarters: Australia, New Zealand, North America and the UK. Fifteen causes will be selected from North America, as well as 15 in the UK and 10 in Australia/New Zealand. The most important criteria for selected causes are that they are not-for-profit agencies and will use the product themselves or in their own facilities.

To nominate a recipient for the 40 Good Causes campaign, those interested need to visit Karndean’s Facebook page and link to karndean40floors.com, which is a voting platform within the social media site. The company is exclusively using Facebook for voting as it “provides a fast and easy way for people to nominate a cause that is close to their hearts,” the company said. From the nominations collected on Facebook, an internal panel narrows down the causes each month and chooses a recipient.

Nine organizations in North America have been selected for the campaign so far. They are:

Staff Sgt. Shockley, Cincinnati

Staff Sgt. Shockley was seriously wounded during his fourth tour in Afghanistan. Substantial modifications to his family’s home were needed to enable Shockley to comfortably visit his home during his two-year-plus recovery period at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C.
