Burns, Tenn.—American OEM Wood Floors (American OEM) is collaborating with the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program. Through the collaboration, the company will provide American-made hardwood flooring for two specially adapted smart homes designed and built for severely wounded veterans in Tennessee.

“We are honored to support the Gary Sinise Foundation and the R.I.S.E. program to create homes designed to restore personal freedom, mobility and self-reliance for some of our nation’s most severely wounded heroes,” said Allie Finkell, executive vice president of American OEM Wood Floors.

American OEM is one of several US-based hardwood flooring manufacturers participating in the R.I.S.E. program partnership, which was facilitated through the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA). Through the collaboration, American OEM will donate flooring made in America, from North American hardwood, to two homes constructed for veterans in and around the region surrounding the company’s Tennessee headquarters.

“Our R.I.S.E. program is dedicated to helping restore veterans’ independence by providing specially adapted custom smart homes to them and their families that feature cutting edge technologies and high-performance materials. The quality and durability of the wood flooring that American OEM provides is helping us to improve the lives of our wounded heroes, allowing them significantly more independence in their new homes. I thank them so much for the support,” said Gary Sinise, founder of the Gary Sinise Foundation.
