Emily Morrow Home logoDalton—In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Emily Morrow Finkell, CEO of Emily Morrow Home and 17-year survivor of breast cancer, has pledged to start and fund the new EMF Grant Fund at the Floor Covering Industry Foundation (FCIF). The fund will help support floor covering families when one of the family members has a catastrophic medical condition and a child who is a college-bound high school senior or already in college.

“As a board member of FCIF and chairman of the fund raising committee, I have witnessed the support FCIF gives families in the floor covering industry,” Finkell said. “It is an honor to contribute and to be part of an industry that has become like family to me. I value the care we have for one another, especially during this pandemic, which has made the need to rally together even greater.”

Finkell has firsthand knowledge of the challenges of a life-threatening medical condition and has a passion for helping families with similar situations. At age 35, Finkell was diagnosed with breast cancer. This experience led her to start the Kiker Morrow Finkell Foundation for Cancer Care. The nonprofit embodies the heart and purpose behind Emily Morrow Home and is funded by a portion of the profits from every sale. In partnership with FCIF, Finkell is expanding her support of others through the EMF Grant Fund. Donations to the EMF Grant Fund will be administered by the FCIF Grant Committee to help pay for a family’s medical care, medications, medical supplies and other expenses such as food, shelter and utilities.

“FCIF is built on the generosity of contributors like Emily,” said Andrea Blackbourn, executive director, FCIF. “Since 1981, the foundation has paved a way for companies and individuals to help their own in time of need. Our board members make sure every dollar is put to the highest and best use so grants can be maximized in ways that transform lives.”

Families who apply and meet the criteria for assistance through FCIF will automatically be considered for the EMF Grant Fund as part of their overall FCIF grant award. For more information and to donate, visit here and specify EMF Fund in the memo line.
