JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.—Mullican Flooring recently expanded its high-end Castillian Collection to include five prefinished solid products. All carry a “lifetime moisture warranty” when properly installed using the company’s new patent-pending Aqua Shield system.
Originally unveiled in 2010 with 12 engineered products, Castillian represented Mullican’s first integration of whitewashed and sculpted-smoked surface treatments for high-end designer markets, such as condominiums and large commercial projects. The company has now added Castillian solids with a new moisture-resistant construction and carry a lifetime moisture warranty when installed using their Aqua Shield system.
“Adding Aqua Shield-compatible solids to Castillian only serves to strengthen this collection which combines strength and durability with customized style elements,” said Brian Greenwell, Mullican’s vice president of sales and marketing. “It’s also exciting to be introducing additional consumer products that carry our lifetime moisture warranty.”
Solid Castillian products feature five-inch widths and are available with rustic, hand-sculpted and wire-brushed surface treatments. These 3/4-inch products are available in oak glacier, oak coffee bean, oak sandstone, oak midnight and oak latte.
Mullican’s Aqua Shield-compatible products, which also include the company’s new Meridian Pointe Collection, are the first in the hardwood flooring industry to offer consumers a “lifetime moisture warranty.” These products – as well as Muirfield, St. Andrews and select offerings of Green Haven – also carry Mullican’s new lifetime-warranted Claritage Extra finish by PPG Industries.
The company’s Aqua Shield is a two-part installation system that is guaranteed to resist moisture when Aqua Shield-compatible products are used. These products are strategically built to withstand moisture, eliminating cupping and warping when installed in combination with the Mullican Moisture Mat underlayment.
In order to qualify for the lifetime moisture warranty, customers must correctly apply the two-part Aqua Shield system and pre-register with Mullican to document specific information about the installation, such as room temperature, humidity level and other environmental conditions.
