Fort Lee, N.J. — In honor of its 85th anniversary this year, Couristan will be giving away two trips at next month; one at the Atlanta International Area Rug Market and the other at Surfaces. Each winner will receive a four-day/three-night trip for two to his or her choice of the Dominican Republic’s Punta Cana or Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. 

In addition, the company will unveil a new anniversary collection called Signature that will pay homage to its early history as a leading importer of fine Persian rugs.

During the Atlanta show, Couristan customers can begin entering into the grand prize drawing at the opening of the show on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012. The company will also be holding an anniversary champagne brunch that day, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in its showroom in the Atlanta Merchandise Mart, space 6D11. Entries will be accepted until the winner is announced on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at 2 p.m.

At Surfaces, where Couristan will be in booth #S3312 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas, Couristan customers can begin entering into the grand prize drawing at the opening of the show, Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012. There will also be an anniversary cocktail party, that day from 4 to 5 p.m. Entries will be accepted up until the grand prize drawing takes place — Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at 3:30 p.m.

At both shows, Couristan will introduce its Signature collection, which offers the classic luxury and ornate appeal of vintage handmade Persian area rugs but in a lower-priced, machine-made construction. Influenced by well-known historical artifacts, the collection of eight designs will showcase royal imperial motifs as well as nomadic tribal patterns. Featuring a 100% New Zealand semi-worsted wool pile with Couristan’s Locked-In-Weave, Signature area rugs are cut with Couristan’s Crystal Point Finish. The Crystal Point Finish is an exclusive Couristan feature and is created when the tip of the yarn is finished with a crystal-like point rather than cut straight across the yarn.
