DALTON—Tandus Flooring’s product earned a number of distinctions at the IIDEX/NeoCon Innovation Awards. The Change collection took home Gold in the Modular category; the Change collection on Powerbond, a hybrid resilient sheet flooring, received the Bronze award in the Resilient category, as well as a Silver in the Sustainable Products category, and three of four product platforms were recognized with broadloom winning a Bronze award for the Estuary collection.

“The Change Collection’s unique design is a testament to the talent within the Tandus Flooring Product Development Group who not only thought outside the box for inspiration, but pushed the boundaries of Stratatec technology,” said Terry Mowers, chief creative officer, Tandus Flooring. “We are honored to have the Collection recognized on both product platforms.”
The Change collection is inspired by the interplay of imagery that occurs on the manufacturing line when one style is transitioned to the next, known as the “change-over”. The Collection consists of three purposeful reproductions of this design phenomenon – Change, Nonconform and Factory Floor – that provide various pattern, scale and coordination options.

All three styles in the Change collection are designed using Tandus Flooring’s innovative Sero design approach. The uniquely fresh patterns of these styles are a break-through in design applied to the full capabilities of the Stratetec equipment. All three designs began as Powerbond, and were transformed into modular—now modular design is no longer limited to the square. Recognized earlier this year with a Best of NeoCon Editor’s Choice award, the Change Collection in modular illustrates the infinite design capabilities of Sero.

Tandus Flooring has produced Powerbond since 1967 and its unique closed-cell cushion construction has caught the industry’s attention by providing moisture impermeability, acoustical and thermal attributes, and proven durability, all combined with sophisticated aesthetics.

“Because we are the only manufacturer of Powerbond, modular, broadloom and woven products, we offer a true fit-for-purpose philosophy and support that philosophy with a unique product line,” said Tom Ellis, vice president of marketing, Tandus Flooring. “There is more than one flooring solution for every application and we are delighted to receive industry acknowledgment for three of these product platforms.”
Designed specifically for the healthcare segment, the Estuary Collection is a comprehensive collection of seven broadloom styles that range in pattern scale and color. Utilizing Tandus Flooring Dynex SD Lustre, the first high-luster, solution-dyed nylon, Estuary offers silky sheen, luxurious luster and stunning, saturated colors with the performance, colorfastness and cleanability of solution-dyed nylon.
