Metroflor Intact chosen for award by Buildings magazine

Norwalk, Conn.—Metroflor Corp. announced that Buildings magazine has selected Intact loose lay plank and tile as a 2013 Product Innovations Merit Award winner. Intact will be showcased in the magazine’s September 2013 issue. The Merit Award (second place) was awarded based on the innovative qualities Intact offers to support the efficiency and sustainability of commercial buildings. Said Russ Rogg, president/CEO of Metroflor, “Intact has tremendous opportunity within the commercial marketplace, and this Merit Award from Buildings magazine validates its potential.”

The innovation behind Intact is patent-pending WaveTrac, the embossed underside of each Intact plank and tile. Virgin vinyl and an integral fiberglass reinforcement mesh eliminate dimensional movement, resulting in a more stable product that is less likely to expand or contract. The WaveTrac pattern, which is similar to a tire tread in its design, is also coated with an anti-skid dry glue, allowing the product to remain in place (or intact) when walked upon.

Now in its 18th year, Product Innovations is offered exclusively to NeoCon exhibitors. Out of 48 submissions, a group of 29 finalists were evaluated by the Buildings editorial staff.
