Dalton–Shaw Industries Inc. has been recognized by Training magazine as a “Training Top 125” company for 2016, marking Shaw’s 12th consecutive year on the list. Training Top 125 ranks companies’ excellence in employer-sponsored training and development programs.

The Top 125 ranking is determined by assessing a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs, and how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives.

Shaw’s education and training efforts have consistently been recognized for high performance. In addition to being among the Training Top 125, the company ranked:

  • 8 out of 500 companies named to Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers 2015. The company is the highest rated among the magazine’s manufacturing/engineering category and the only ranked company within the floorcovering industry thanks in part to its expansive education and training programs.
  • 4 in the most recent Elearning! magazine’s Learning! 100. Honored for the fifth consecutive year, Shaw was among top private sector companies cited for high performance, organizational culture, innovation and collaboration.

Shaw’s education and training efforts extend beyond its more than 22,000 associates to customers, the community, and the future workforce.

Recognizing that Shaw’s and retailers’ success are inextricably linked, Shaw’s comprehensive and customized programs offer education and training to help retailers meet their business objectives. More than 15,000 customers engage with the Shaw Learning Academy each year through regional training, online sessions, markets, the Shaw Flooring Network Convention, and other offerings.

“Our business is growing with U.S. expansions that will add 1,000 new jobs in the next few years. We’re investing heavily in products and services to meet ever-changing market demand,” said Danny Crutchfield, Shaw’s director of corporate training and organizational development. “This environment requires nimble, strategic training programs that can adapt as quickly as the market and business landscape. We’re proud to be recognized for our ongoing efforts to ensure our associates, customers and community can meet today’s and tomorrow’s expectations and help them achieve their full potential.”

The Shaw Learning Academy’s leadership team and staff are focused on helping others align their skills and interests with business needs for greater personal and professional accomplishment. The Shaw talent model defines the leadership behaviors required to achieve organizational success and to drive Shaw’s training and development priorities.
