Calhoun, Ga.—Mohawk is expanding its Pergo Extreme rigid vinyl flooring line with the debut of the Wood Fundamentals collection. Recently launched, Wood Fundamentals is Made in the USA and features 10 realistic wood looks and worry-free performance.

“Wood Fundamentals provides specialty retailers another solution for shoppers looking for Pergo, the leading flooring choice for today’s modern, busy families,” said John Sommers, Mohawk’s president of resilient. “The collection also helps retailers target those seeking out products made domestically, a shopping behavior that continues to increase, along with providing the look and performance that these consumers want.”

Exclusively offered to Mohawk Edge retail partners, Wood Fundamentals adds to Pergo Extreme’s current four collections of higher-end wood and stone-look visuals. The collection epitomizes “High Performance Runs Deep in every way.”

Authentic textures and all over embossing provide consumers with some of the most extraordinary designs ever achieved. Each SKU is 5 mil thick and has planks that are 7.5 inches wide by 48 inches long. Deeper protection comes in the form of Pergo dent-free technology that provides extreme protection against scratching, denting and gouging.

“Like the rest of our Pergo Extreme line, Wood Fundamentals is constructed with a solid stone-polymer composite and layered with an enhanced lacquer finish,” explained Sommers. “The result is a strikingly beautiful floor that is 100% dent proof, pet proof, kid proof and waterproof.”

Additionally, Wood Fundamentals has a no acclimation guarantee, and Mohawk’s innovative Uniclic Locking System makes it easy to install.

“Priced at a newer, more affordable price point, the collection allows retail partners to now offer a trade up story within our Pergo Extreme line,” said Sommers. “New graphic updates to current in-store displays will help RSAs easily tell this story and will provide a more intuitive shopping experience for the consumer as well.”
