Dalton—Shaw Floors has announced its 2021 trend and design vision, informing the company’s new product introductions to ensure timely, on-trend styles of today’s most in-demand flooring categories: titled “Craft: A Story of Home.”

The 2021 color palette, tied to the story of craft, will be shared across Shaw’s Residential brands. Each will honor the tradition of the artisan in unique ways through product storytelling and design. Shaw Floors has put home at the heart of its 2021 design theme, highlighting the increased consumer focus on home improvement and the need to refresh spaces to include remote activities and/or promote well-being.

According to Shaw, “Craft: A Story of Home” speaks to the creative journeys people can experience without leaving their home, and that feeling when you finally find the perfect piece for a space you love. Brought to life in color, Shaw’s 2021 trend and design vision introduces a palette of ten new colors and six crossover hues from 2020.

“Our 2021 color palette features on-trend hues with a nod to nature and minerals to infuse a sentimental feeling into a space,” says Pamela Rainey, vice president of residential product development, Shaw Industries. “This beautiful palette has craftsman influences, using natural earth tones and softened accent colors to reflect a comfortable sanctuary and soothing environment as we all adjust to using our homes and personal spaces in new ways. We’ve carried over six colors from our 2020 Cultural Explorers palette to account for the rich diversity of cultural influences in artisanal crafts passed down through many generations. All colors from our 2021 palette easily mix together with existing colors in the home to become the foundational layer of a room.”
