The Summit 2024Dalton—The National Association of Floor Covering Technicians (NAFCT) and UNITE Floor Training Alliance are set to host The Summit 2024, to be held here Feb. 22 and 23 at the Dalton Convention Center.

“In my 40 plus years in this business, I’ve always seen three distinctly different players,” said Robert Varden, founder and CEO of UNITE. “The manufacturer, the retailer/dealer and the contractor/installer. And while not even one of these groups would survive without the other, how often do they communicate? Our goal with this summit is to help bridge that gap, open constructive communication between the manufacturer, the retailer and the installer.”

The Summit 2024 is designed for flooring installers, contractors, manufacturers and suppliers. The event will feature educational sessions, a trade show and culminate with a panel discussion: “Bridging the Gap Between Installers and Manufacturers.”

“I am excited for NAFCT and UNITE to team up and offer this unique event,” said Sonny Callaham, NAFCT co-founder and chairman. “The Summit 2024 will offer educational sessions, a trade show and an open panel discussion regarding the disconnect between installers, contractors and manufacturers. The Summit 2024 is a great opportunity for you to both network and learn from the top technical personnel in our industry. ”

On Thursday, February 22, educational sessions will include:

  • “Concrete – Overview, Mix Designs, and Moisture” presented by Dean Craft, principal with ISE Logik.
  • “Causes and Remedies of Concrete Slab Imperfections” presented by Seth Pevarnik, director of technical services for Ardex Americas.
  • “Testing by the Lab Guy” presented by Lee Phillips, laboratory director at Professional Testing Laboratory LLC.
  • “What is ASTM?” presented by Sonny Callaham, co-founder and chairman of NAFCT.

On Friday, February 23 educational sessions will include:

  • “Floorcloud: The Future of Jobsite Monitoring Is Here!” presented by Scott Banda, c o-founder and CEO of Floorcloud.
  • “Seaming Today’s Handmade Carpets” presented by Robert Varden, owner of Advanced Flooring Technology and founder of UNITE.
