Salem, N.H. — nora systems is proud to introduce noraplan sentica, the latest high-performance floor covering from nora that offers versatility for healthcare applications.

“We brought together designers from across North America to drive the design and the color selection for noraplan sentica,” explained Andreas Mueller, president, nora systems, Inc. “Our goal was to have this group develop a product that provides more options for our customers, and that‘s exactly what they did.”

noraplan sentica features a subtle tone-on-tone design and a palette of 38 colors – 32 standard and six accent colors. Outfitted with this versatile and extensive color range, noraplan sentica can be used to lead a design. But the floor covering also complements other nora products, especially noraplan environcare, to provide nora customers with more options for their spaces.

“I love the tone-on-tone effect,”  said April Gizicki, associate, IIDA, LEED-AP, FreemanWhite Architects, Charlotte, NC. “It works well as a product by itself, and I know it will serve as a great complement.”

“This color palette provides us with a great opportunity to fill the pockets that are missing from the environcare line,” added Amy Mays, senior interior designer, Perkins+Will, New York, NY. “It just gives us more possibilities.”

To address customer feedback and develop a product that meets customer needs, nora invited a diverse team of architects and designers from across North America to work together in multiple workshops. Designers exchanged ideas openly about the design and color palette, allowing them to carefully and strategically develop noraplan sentica. According to Naomi Kruger, associate, IIDA, LEED-AP, SmithGroupJJR, Washington, DC,  and one of the designers invited to participate in the workshops, the collaborative product development process was more intensive than others in which she participated, and it forced the group to stay focused on the end result.

“The process of how this product came together is really what separates it from other products,” explained Kruger. “Everything was well thought out. While some colors are a little more conservative than we first expected, they definitely match up with our desires, and from a purely color perspective, it adds more depth to the nora product line.”

According to Leah Hofferkamp, senior architectural tech, LEED-AP, R.I.D., HOK in St. Louis, MO, it all comes back to the depth of colors and design flexibility that noraplan sentica provides.

“I think this product is versatile and can be used in a number of ways,” explained Hofferkamp. “For renovations, especially in facilities that already have environcare installed, it gives me multiple options to expand the design.” noraplan sentica is available in 2mm and 3mm rolls and tiles and is GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified for Children and Schools. The floor covering is also available in acoustic and electrostatic dissipative options.
