HomeNewsMohawk to add LVT production in Belgium

Calhoun, Ga.—Mohawk said it will build a luxury vinyl tile line in in one of its Belgium plants that will support approximately $100 million in sales.
The line is scheduled to become operational next year but won’t have much impact on Mohawk earnings until 2015, the company said on its earnings conference call last week.

The firm has recently closed its Pergo plant in Sweden and moved production to Belgium.
“There are many similarities between LVT and laminate manufacturing, so we can leverage our technical design-and-click expertise to differentiate our products,” CEO Jeffrey Lorberbaum said.
