Neenah, Wis.–The National Academy of Floor Covering Training (NAFCT) announced the addition of the IICRC Certification Wood Floor Maintenance Technician (WFMT) to its list of classes. IICRC approved instructor Roy Reichow and the NAFCT are bringing the class to locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Classes are scheduled for Minneapolis May 19-20, 2016, and Toronto June 8-9, 2016. Additional classes will be listed at NAFCT.com and IICRC.org as they come available.

Wood Floor Maintenance Technician Course is 14 hours of training over a course of two) days. Emphasis is placed on teaching participants an overview of wood floor care that
includes initial, routine, periodic and restorative processes.

An introductory course for wood floors maintenance was developed for individuals engaged in floor
maintenance. The WFMT
course teaches basic understanding of wood science, wood floor finish types, and proper care and maintenance.
Completion of this course will provide academic and hands-on training to obtain WFMT certification. Although there are wood flooring continuing education (CCU) courses
available, they do not contain the IICRC certification such as this course does.

Roy Reichow, an NWFA regional trainer, holds NWFA certifications in wood floor installation, sanding and finishing, sales counselor, inspector and commercial inspector. He is an IICRC certified wood/laminate floor inspector and a wood floor maintenance technician approved instructor. Reichow has worked in the wood floor industry for over 40 years as a wood flooring contractor, estimator, and project manager. He has provided inspection, consulting and training to the wood floor industry since 2000.
