Ramsey, N.J.—Porcelanosa, a Tile of Spain branded manufacturer, launched a collection of engineered hardwoods in the U.S. While the L’Antic Colonial collection has been available in Europe since the early 2000s, the U.S. buyers can now find the line at any of 15 Porcelanosa stores, CCA Global vendors and most recently with Abbey Carpet & Floor stores, said Chris Breslin, brand manager, wood flooring division.

Porcelanosa stores offer floor and wall tile, kitchen vanities and faucets, but executives felt it would be a good complement to its current products as a one-stop solution for interior design, he continued. The line includes boards as wide as 10 ½-inches and as long as 7 feet with thistle oil and carnauba wax resins for a natural and hard wearing finish. It is also a glueless, floating system, an application that hasn’t garnered much favor in high-end hardwood just yet.

“Our style is very popular in Europe and while we understand it is not as popular in the U.S., we like the high end look it provides,” Breslin said. “Even in a down market if we bring a unique, trendy product we can still capture an audience, especially with the high-end buyer.”

The average retail per square foot is approximately $10 to $10.99 and part of a pricing strategy in line with other products from Porcelanosa and Tile of Spain, Breslin finished.
