Salem, N.J.—Mannington Mills hosted the 8th annual “Art is Cool” reception last evening at its corporate headquarters in Salem, N.J.  The event, which is part of Mannington’s participation in the “Partners of Salem County” program, recognizes high school artists for their talent and is hosted by Mannington’s Chairman of the Board, Keith Campbell.

The program is helps bring awareness to the importance of art in education.  “Creativity is what drives our business here at Mannington,” said Campbell. “It’s central to so much in life, and it’s important that our communities continue to support the arts in schools.”

Students in grades 9 through 12 from the five high schools in Salem County are invited to participate.  Almost 200 submissions were sent in. The artwork is judged by members of Mannington’s styling department – all of whom have fine arts training.  “The students are always surprised to know that an artistic background can carry you through to a business career,” said Betsy Amoroso, Mannington’s director of corporate communications.  “Our stylists are a good example of what can come of your talent if you pursue that.”
