UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J.—The Hunter Douglas “Celebrate the Season” fall sales event is designed to tap into consumers’ desire to make their homes more beautiful and safer for the fall season, as well as for holiday gatherings, while providing another opportunity for the company’s aligned dealers to close larger and more profitable sales.

Easy to execute, with no minimum or maximum purchase requirements, noted Norm Malone, Hunter Douglas vice president of marketing programs, the event runs through Dec. 12 and includes mail-in rebates on many of the most popular Hunter Douglas window fashions.

Rebates for consumers will be provided in the form of an American Express Prepaid Reward Card, he explained.

Free upgrades to the company’s LiteRise cordless lifting system will be available to Hunter Douglas Gallery Dealer and Showcase Priority Dealer customers on select styles. In addition, free upgrades to the UltraGlide retractable cord lifting system will be available on select styles to Hunter Douglas Gallery Dealer customers up to Nov. 30.

Perfect timing

“The Celebrate the Season event is sure to attract consumers to dealers and is perfectly timed to coincide with pre-holiday and other decorating projects that are often undertaken during the fall months,” said Malone.

“Additionally, as October is designated as Window Covering Safety Month, our special savings on select lifting systems will help build greater consumer awareness of this important topic,” he explained. “Research shows that our promotional programs continue to be a strong motivating factor in driving consumers into stores and purchasing Hunter Douglas products. In fact, one-third of surveyed consumers reported having purchased greater quantities of product than they had originally planned because of the promotions.”

Consumer mail-in rebate offers range from $25 per unit up to $300 per unit on select Alustra Collection products with no minimum or maximum purchase requirements. Rebate offers may not be combined, and there is a limit of one rebate per qualifying unit. Additionally, Hunter Douglas Gallery and Showcase Priority dealers are being given exclusive opportunities to offer customers free upgrades on select products.

Malone said retailers should contact their sales reps for more information on these exclusive offerings.

The promotion is being supported by a dealer kit chock full of compelling marketing materials and is available in three versions, noted Malone: one for storefront Priority dealers, one for storefront Gallery or Showcase Priority dealers, and one for shop-at-home dealers.

“The two storefront kits include an array of point-of-sale materials and customizable advertising templates, including a counter card, poster, hang tags, product danglers and vertical standee display as well as window decal and window cling,” he explained.

The shop-at-home version, Malone added, “has many of the same materials in the storefront kits but replaces some of the point-of-sale pieces with a laminated sell sheet, 6 x 9-inch customer thank-you postcards, ‘Order Soon’ sticky notes and a presentation mat. These are all more appropriate for the dealers’ special needs.”

Customizable advertising materials promoting the various savings opportunities are also available with Hunter Douglas’ My Brand Builder tool, available at my.hunterdouglas.com, which also has select customizable advertising templates in Spanish.
