A Blueprint to Green Flooring webinar designed for architects, facility managers, general contractors, designers, construction specifiers and people interested in green flooring will be given free on Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. CST. The course covers the basics of green floor covering removal, disposal and installation guidelines for flooring materials, such as carpet, vinyl composite tile, synthetic turf, linoleum, hardwood and bamboo. Renewable sources of flooring and sustainability factors with their effects on the lifecycle process will be discussed.
Proper maintenance procedures for extending the life of flooring products, manufacturer’s warranties, levels of LEED certification and the importance of selecting low VOC adhesives will be addressed.
Objectives of the webinar are to identify a variety of flooring products that qualify for LEED points, analyze how the flooring options will impact LEED points, communicate the importance of following proper installation procedures, and implement proper procedures and guidelines to provide a long life-cycle for the flooring. Participants will understand the unique installation requirements for green flooring products and how to choose a qualified, competent contractor.
