Florence, Ala.—Doug Young has joined HPS Schönox as executive vice president to work extensively with the overall strategy of the company and in further development of the national sales and support teams. Heather Yario-Rice is now regional vice president of sales for the Great Lakes Region working to expand distribution and brand awareness throughout this important area of the country.

Young has served in a variety of sales management capacities with increasing levels of responsibility with national and international flooring manufacturers culminating in this executive level assignment with HPS Schönox. “I am delighted to be working with Thomas Trissl [HPS Schönox principal] again, with a company that has such a strong entrepreneurial mindset,”Young said. “I am enthusiastic knowing that we have so much to offer the industry and the team to positively impact the way flooring projects are done.”

Young will be based in Atlanta which will put him within easy reach of a number of important markets, but also in close proximity to the HPS Schönox headquarters here where he will be working closely with Trissl. The company is expanding rapidly with a comprehensive line of subfloor products engineered to solve the toughest subfloor problems while saving time and money in the process. “It’s so important to get our message out at this point and I have complete confidence in Doug to do that and to lead our team in making a difference within the subfloor industry,” Trissl said.

Rice brings a strategically sound background to HPS Schönox having worked on the sales and specification side with flooring distribution companies and also in subfloor manufacturing, helping to link architects, designers, contractors and national accounts with product solutions. Her management experience has included a wide variety of roles where she was successful in helping team members to grow rapidly and consistently achieve strong results. “The position with HPS Schönox was a great fit for me given the company’s clear focus on making a tangible difference in the way flooring projects are done and enhancing the process for everyone involved,” she explained. “I don’t want to just be a part of selling products; I want to bring real value to the industry and we are doing that with HPS Schönox.”

Trissl said, “In her very short time with HPS Schönox, Heather is already working closely with our distribution partners and sales and support team. With her in place, we are poised to grow strategically in the region within many key industries where our products have the greatest impact and value.” Yario-Rice is based in Chicago, allowing her access to the Great Lakes Region that she is developing.

“I am delighted to have someone of Heather’s experience and expertise working with us from HPS Schönox,” said Don Brickweg, commercial sales manager, CDC Distributors. “Our business opportunities with Schönox have grown steadily and we believe Heather will be a part of that growth accelerating.”
