Beauflor’s commercial controller, Keeli Padgett, whose late aunt previously lived at the group home, initiated the donation after receiving pictures from her father that showed ripped and damaged vinyl and carpet flooring throughout the home. She presented the idea to Beauflor’s senior leadership team who agreed to donate the flooring and cover all installation expenses.

“It is important that we give back to our community,” stated George Frederick, managing director of Beauflor USA. “We support many local initiatives without having any personal connections but this one was presented to us by an employee that was so passionate about the organization. After learning about the group home and how the new flooring would benefit so many people, we were compelled to get this done.”

When selecting the flooring for the installation, Beauflor chose its Xtreme sheet vinyl flooring because of its commercial-grade durability, slip resistance and cleanliness. The flooring performs well in areas subject to daily wheelchair traffic and is easy to clean and maintain. In addition, Xtreme is waterproof so it can be installed throughout the home to create a visually appealing aesthetic and seamless flow from room to room.

“The group home helps the residents live as normal lives as possible despite their disability, which not only empowers them but the community as a whole,” said Darlene Washington, the clerical assistant at View Point Health. “The new flooring is truly a blessing. Something as simple as removing the old carpet is a huge deal for us. The new floor will improve the quality of life for the residents and will make it easier for the staff to keep clean, which will improve the health of the residents.”

View Point Health is a community behavioral health center that provides treatment and services to individuals with mental health, substance abuse, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization’s mission is to improve the quality of life of the individuals they serve, as well as provide behavioral and physical healthcare to those who otherwise may not have access to it.
