Working with design inspiration from Corgan Associates, Mannington Commercial has created the Redefined Collection, fashion classics reimagined as 18″x36″ modular carpet.

Made up of six products inspired by houndstooth, tweed, hexagons, and other classic patterns,Redefined is texturally rich and visually striking, yet designed to play a supporting role in any interior space. Mannington and Corgan first teamed up on product design last year, with the launch of the Connected Collection, a breakthrough in using carpet to shape spaces in the open floorbplans of today’s corporate projects. Building upon this success, the Redefined Collection –which launched at NeoCon 2013 – is also designed for adaptive work spaces.

“Technology and community have blurred the lines in corporate offices,” said Lindsay Wilson, interiors principal at Corgan Associates, who led a Corgan design team. “Where there used to be hard lines between public and private space, now we all think in terms of collaboration, projects, and anywhere/anytime productivity.

“The impulse behind Redefined was not only to refresh classic patterns for today, but also to bring the past into the present in a way that is both timeless and timely,” she continued. “The patterns can be used to emphasize the energy of a marketing area or the sophisticated quiet of a boardroom, with beautiful transitional and way finding cues between.”

Through the creative use of 18 x 36 modular carpet format, Redefined’s textural patterns appear and disappear, fading in and out of focus, enabling a custom look without requiring intricate, costly installation methods. In fact, the patterns are designed to effortlessly create an elegant random effect when installed in a simple, linear fashion that does not require complex planning.

The sophisticated palette of 16 running line colors, with or without accent tones, helps ensure these classics will remain relevant in project installations for years to come. The line is suitable not only for new corporate construction and renovation, but also for retail, higher education, hospitality and healthcare.

Constructed of Antron Lumena fiber for long-term performance, and available on rEvolve vinyl alternative thermoplastic polyolefin backing (20% recycled content, including 10% post consumer), as well as Infinity RE high performance modular backing (30% recycled, including 15% post consumer). Both backings are third-party certified by NSF/ANSI as Environmentally Preferable Products, at the Platinum level. Colorsafe bleach warranty, Xguard stain warranty, and other lifetime warranties apply.

A companion collection, Redefined Collection | Texture, includes two patterns, Bouclé and Bouclé Luxe, using a proprietary, ultra-large denier Ultron fiber with patented variable twist technology to give the carpet a heavily textured look and feel, while maintaining commercial grade performance. Redefined Collection | Texture is available in both 12 foot broadloom and 24 x 24 modular tile.
