Beaulieu Canada introduces two engineered wood lines

HomeNewsBeaulieu Canada introduces two engineered wood lines

Acton Vale, Quebec—Beaulieu Canada launched 2 distinctive, natural oiled, engineered hardwood collections: Castle Combe and Navarre.

A natural oil is used to finish the Castle Combe and Navarre floors. This natural oil process penetrates the grain of the wood and becomes part of the floor, instead of sitting on top like acrylic, polyurethane and aluminum oxide finishes. Rather than degrade with age and use like other finishes, the natural oil preserves the original beauty of the wood and enhances the patina; the more it is walked on, the more beautiful it gets.

Castle Combe and Navarre, feature a distinctive and sophisticated range of distressed, sculpted and antiqued visuals. Both collections are FSC certified domestic hardwood floors sourced through sound forestry practices. Established in 1993, the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.

These floors are easy to care for; a regular application of maintenance oil is all that is needed in order to nourish the wood and restore its natural luster. They do not need to be sanded entirely and refinished. Because the natural oils enhance the durable nature of the wood, Castle Combe and Navarre floors can be repaired. Generally only light sanding on the affected area and a coat of Woca Refresher maintenance oil is required.

Many flooring finishes, such as acrylic, polyurethane and aluminum oxide finishes, release as much as 5.44kg (12lbs) of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) to the air that are harmful to both humans and the environment. Castle Combe and Navarre floors, due to the natural oil finish, release zero VOCs.
