Marietta, Ga.—Design innovation through collaboration, that’s the chief focus of Durkan’s fifth installment in the D*Zine magazine series. The publication is considered a trusted resource for style, design and creative inspiration for leading architects and designers in the hospitality segment. In addition to providing relevant information, the latest edition of D*Zine offers a first look at Durkan’s newest collections. More than 170 new Print, CYP and Merit tufted patterns are previewed in this issue.

“2012 is off to a very exciting start for Durkan,” said Lee Blair, SVP, global head of hospitality, Mohawk Industries. “We have cultivated several new partnerships that bring a fresh perspective and unique flavor to our 2012 design offerings. This latest issue of D*Zine magazine really captures Durkan’s spirit of innovation and inspiration, while also offering valuable tools such as trend forecasting that customers can use to their competitive advantage in the weeks and months ahead.”

One of the biggest names in hospitality design is joining forces with Durkan in 2012. Stacy Garcia is employing her signature style and pattern design skills to create new Durkan Print and CYP collections, and D*Zine magazine offers the first exclusive look at this exciting collaboration. D*Zine also showcases the latest work of designers Virginia Langley, Tracy Lee Stum and Oren Sherman.

All of the print collections featured in this issue were designed especially for Durkan’s new Spectronics 25X high-definition printing system. Durkan is the first in the industry to employ Spectronics 25 dpi technology, which uses computer controlled, high-speed valves to achieve deep color penetration. Spectronics 25X yields a higher resolution, resulting in greater design clarity and better detailing of shapes, lines, edges, and corners.

“Collaborative partnerships, state-of-the technology and a leading design magazine—all of this works together to reaffirm Durkan’s leading position in the hospitality market,” added Blair. “These details create added value for our hospitality customers and really separate us from the competition.”

Look for your Durkan sales representative to deliver your issue of D*Zine magazine in the next two weeks.
