JACKSON, MISS.—The National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) has elected Dan Welch, president of Welch Tile & Marble in Grand Rapids, Mich., as its next president. He will take the gavel from outgoing president Nyle Wadford at the NTCA Annual Meeting during Total Solutions Plus, which was taking place as FCNews went to press.

Wadford, president of Neuse Tile Service in Youngville, N.C., is in the process of finishing his two-year term as NTCA’s president. “With the support of his leadership, as well as the rest of the NTCA executive committee and board, the association has experienced record growth in one of the most challenging economic periods in recent history,” said Bart Bettiga, the association’s executive director.

“Meanwhile, Dan has already demonstrated his leadership and passion for the tile trade in many association programs,” he added. “One of his main contributions is his support of certification through the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF). A major association effort is taking place to further develop certification and Dan is expected to be one of the champions of this initiative in his presidency.”
