Orlando, Fla.—The International Certified Flooring Installers Association (CFI) recently honored Scott Humphrey, CEO of the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA), with the Chris Davis award during its 28th annual convention at the Rosen Shingle Creek here.

Created in 2012 in memory of the late CEO of the WFCA, Christopher Davis, who was noted for his exceptional commitment to promote quality installation and support across the flooring industry, the award honors an individual who emulates Davis’ vision of building stronger foundations among all partners. Humphrey was recognized for his visionary leadership and support of CFI and the entire flooring covering installation community.

“It is fitting that Scott Humphrey has been selected to receive the Chris Davis Award,” said Robert Varden, executive director, CFI. “Like Chris, Scott is a fearless, innovative leader, guided by a steady, internal compass. He takes risks, takes a stand and takes action to solve problems for the entire industry. Critically important, he understands that relationships between installers and dealers is essential for customer satisfaction. Always one to lend a helping hand, sage advice and meaningful support for CFI, Scott is most deserving of this special award.”

Since taking the helm of the WFCA in 2013, Scott has been a tireless advocate for quality installers. In 2014, he brought CFI in under the WFCA umbrella to financially support and expand their installation training and certification programs and was instrumental in creating the first-ever industry-wide initiative and formation of the Floor Covering Education Foundation.

“I am deeply honored and humbled to be named the recipient of the Chris Davis Award,” Humphrey said. “I am a big fan of Chris. In fact, I am his living legacy. Without his vision, determination and commitment, the WFCA would not be the organization we are today. I am committed to CFI, along with other great training organizations, being a vital part of solving the installation crisis. I am excited and challenged to work with Robert Varden and the CFI team and members to partner with other industry leaders to carry out CFI’s mission and fulfill Chris Davis’ vision.”
